It’s not every day you get the chance to talk to a former NHL player, let alone one of the toughest guys in league history.

Well, today Bus League Hockey got that chance, courtesy of Danbury Hat Tricks owner Herm Sorcher, who gave us our biggest guest on the site to date, former NHL player Colton Orr.

For those who aren’t aware of who Orr is, he played nearly 500 games over his NHL career, playing for Boston, the New York Rangers, and Toronto, racking up nearly 1,200 penalty minutes in the process.

Well, this being Bus League Hockey, we weren’t here to discuss too much of his NHL career, but instead focused on the recent news about his involvement with a new NA3HL team in Danbury, the Danbury Colonials. We also touch on his involvement with a new hockey camp at the Danbury Ice Arena, the new FHL team, the Danbury Hat Tricks, and ask him who the toughest guys he squared off in the NHL were.

NOTE: About halfway through the interview our very expensive recording device crapped out (great timing for that huh?), so we lost a couple minutes of the interview where we discuss some of his involvement with the FHL Hat Tricks. The biggest part of it is that his brother, Jamison Orr, who played 27 games in the UHL/IHL 2.0, and his nephew, Kruz Listmayer, who just finished his Junior A career, will be involved with the team. Jamison in possible player/consulting role, and Kruz as a defenseman.
